IoT

The Internet of Things (IoT) describes the concept of everyday devices connected via the Internet or supporting communications technologies. These devices might be sensors of temperature, humidity, water or power usage, or switchgear/actuators like sprinkler valves or electrical switches. The Internet of Things (IoT) supports grander goals, like those of Smart Cities, Smart Buildings, Smart Farms/Smart Agriculture and Smart Homes. You might also hear the term IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) which describes the application of IoT to industry, along with Industry 4.0 and Smart Factories. The idea behind all this is that all this incoming data and control systems should be able to automate systems better. However the Internet of Things lacked a proper implementation of a brain, until JFDI introduced Bobb, the Smart in Smart Buildings. Bobb is also supported by a range of JFDI-developed hardware, as well as a huge ecosystem of third-party hardware and software.
